WebIt's a factor, along with the motor choice. Shimming comment was more aimed at my assumption that they were running stock nylon gears. I'm yet to see a stock non mosfet blaster that couldn't take an 11v battery wiring-wise, but the failure point would usually be due to insufficient mesh between gears and them stripping under the increased power.
