View in thread #2 WebbTo protect your card, you'll need to lower your graphics settings, particularly water and high detail lots. I have a strong dedicated card and keep these at "mirror only" and 2, respectively. You may need to experiment with lowering the other settings as well. Playing in windowed mode will also help.

My PC can easily run this game, I have enabled V-sync, and even tried compatibility mode yet I keep getting a tear.

WebbThere was no way I could find to fix it, but I did work around it by running the game in windowed mode and using a Fullscreen Borderless program to make it look like fullscreen. This solved the screen tearing as well as another issue I had where if I had HDR turned on the menus in game would be blown out. Hope this helps! More posts you may like

I then copied over the "The Sims 3" directory from my existing user to the new and everything still worked.
